You would like to become a part of the team?

We are always on the lookout for highly qualified and motivated candidates holding a master’s degree, primarily in science and engineering. Our doctoral researchers represent diverse nationalities and cultures, creating a vibrant, international environment for research. There are two paths to join: apply for a HITEC Fellowship or directly apply for a PhD position at one of our HITEC member institutes!

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree, a German “Diplom,” or an equivalent qualification at the start of their PhD project. Specific degree requirements and experience needed are outlined for each doctoral position. Degrees from non-European countries are subject to a recognition process based on university regulations, and university faculties may require additional qualifications to be completed in the initial stages of thesis work.

The language of HITEC is English. A very good command of the language is requested.

You will be awarded your PhD degree e.g. from one of the universities RWTH Aachen University, University of Bochum, University of Cologne, University of Düsseldorf, and University of Wuppertal. Your supervisor will guide you in this matter.

Doctoral researchers who successfully complete the HITEC program receive a HITEC Certificate, which provides a record of the skills and achievements gained during their PhD, complementing the awarding of the doctoral degree by the respective universitiy.
