Good Research Practice
The objective of our course „Good Research Practice” is to familiarize you as a young researcher with the basic rules and values of responsible conduct in research, according to local (Jülich, Helmholtz), national (DFG) and international regulations and guidelines.
In particular, this course provides an introduction to the principles of good research practice as required by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
The Good Research Practice course provides you with research ethics expertise and gives you space to reflect on your own values and attitudes as researcher. The course focuses on the definitions of good research practice, potential problem and conflict areas, misconduct in science and how to deal with misconduct as well as general and specific responsibilities. You learn practical skills to deal with conflict situations in your research practice. Furthermore, you acquire knowledge about the rules of good research practice and learn to make responsible decisions in your everyday research work and how to protect your scientific work.
